The results of a recent survey showed that when people preferred HTML email marketing messages and newsletters, they preferred them because... 1- HTML email newsletters can accomplish a more effective
layout In the "other" reasons, people brought up the fact that embedded links are more effective in HTML email for two reasons: 1) they can be hidden behind the text and are therefore less intrusive, and 2) links can be shorter avoiding the "zillions of characters long" link problem that affects many text-based mailings. They also mentioned that text just can't do some of the things that an HTML email marketing can, such as the ability to embed forms into the email itself. Clearly the benefits of HTML email are in how layout, color, and images can affect the reader's ability to process and enjoy the content WHEN IT IS DONE WELL. The Text reader feedback was also clear - don't distract me with too much chaotic layout, color and images or worse yet - missing graphics or broken links. email newsletter - Using email for your newsletter. A great example of cost effective internet marketing. There are some good reasons for running a newsletter or mailing list: 1. You want to disseminate information to your readers. Such newsletters are useful both to you (as a web designer) and to your readers: you get a chance to reach your audience with your information, and your audience gets the information they wanted (which was why they subscribed in the first place). There's also a side benefit: some of your readers will return to your site to check out the new stuff mentioned in your newsletter. Email marketing has evolved to become one of the most effective
and cost-efficient ways to communicate with your customers. Now
you can give e-mail campaigns greater personalization, more relevant
messages, and more powerful impact with Inxmail. It can help
you make the most of this valuable medium to strengthen current
customer relationships and build valuable new ones. Communication via email saves time and postage costs.
Reactions can be gathered in fractions of seconds. The response
rates of Permission Marketing reaches a fantastic 5 to 15 per cent
- thus Permission Marketing is one of the most efficient forms
of advertising. emarketing is marketing that utilises the medium of the Internet. There are of course far more elaborate definitions, but that’s it in a nutshell. If that's too brief for you, here's a good down-to-earth definition Cisco give on their website: "E-marketing is a general term for a wide array of activities - advertising, customer communications, branding and relationship-building efforts, loyalty and retention programs, and more - all conducted over the Internet. Much more than creating a Web site, e-marketing focuses more on communicating on line, using a customer-directed dialogue with your company to find new prospects, increasing loyalty and making it easier for your customers to do business with you. In short, we define e-marketing all the things your business does on line to find, attract, win, and keep customers." Whatever definition you use, the fundamental principals
of marketing still apply to e-Marketing. The Internet, which includes email and the Web, has been described as the world’s least expensive and most effective marketing tool which is why so many businesses have embraced it. The confusion and mystery of subjects like e marketing to many business people is because they involve so much IT techno-jargon. The reality is that you don’t need to understand in depth all the jargon and underlying technology (chances are, you probably don’t even want to). The key issue is to understand enough so you are aware of the options and marketing benefits the technology can deliver. You no more need to understand the technical intricacies of web hosting, email list servers, search engine algorithms, banner ad servers and the like any more than you need to know the in depth technical intricacies of printing or TV commercial production. Focus on what the technology can do for you, rather than the how. Whilst it’s important to harness and use online technologies, don’t let them dictate your marketing strategies – be market lead rather than technology lead. (Beware the enthusiastic technocrat!). edm stands for Electronic Direct Marketing, which is the same as emarketing, and email marketing.
